Precision tools FAQ
Which series should I choose – QX, IQi, QE/QM, RTS or QC?
QX is cordless and transducerized (0.8–4000 Nm), IQi is mains-powered for small screws (0.17–15 Nm), QE/QM are electric systems with controller and fixtured spindles (up to 2500 Nm), RTS are reaction-free mechanical pulse tools and QC has a mechanical clutch for standard assembly.
What is the difference between clutch and transducer control?
A clutch shuts off at the set torque (about ±10%). A transducer measures real torque and angle on every rundown (±2–5%) and stores the result for traceability.
Do QX tools need a controller?
No. QX tools work stand-alone via USB or app. The INSIGHTqcx™ controller is added when the line needs sequences, I/O or several tools per station. QXW connects directly to MES.
Can ProTech calibrate precision tools?
Yes. ProTech is an official Ingersoll Rand partner and service centre in the Nordics and provides calibration with certificate, capability testing (Cmk), service and warranty extensions.
