Description

The Ingersoll Rand SS825GC03R91 from the SS800 series is a heavy-duty vane air starter for starting large industrial diesel and gas engines. The ductile/cast iron housing withstands severe vibration, temperature swings and corrosive atmospheres, and the vane motor delivers immediate high starting torque – even in sub-zero conditions and hazardous areas where electric starting systems pose a risk.

The pre-engaged pinion meshes with the engine ring gear at low air pressure before full starting torque is applied. This eliminates gear milling and tooth clashing and extends the service life of both starter and engine.
