Ingersoll Rand SS800 Series Vane Air Starters (45–75 hp)
The SS800 is a high-power vane-motor air starter for large diesel and gas engines in marine, power generation, oil & gas and rail. The series runs on compressed air or natural gas and is available pre-engaged or with inertia engagement, with caged or overhung nose and clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation.
- Up to 75 hp (56 kW) and up to 562 Nm breakaway torque.
- Gas-tight (G) – suitable for natural gas operation.
- SAE 3 and IR “09” flanges, DP and module pinions.
- 4 inlet, 4 exhaust and 16 drive housing positions.
Models and model code
SS810 – inertia engagement; SS815, SS825, SS850 – pre-engaged with increasing torque. Example SS825GC03R25-310: SS825 – model, G – gas-tight, C – gear ratio, 03 – SAE 3 flange, R – right-hand rotation, 25 – pinion (11 teeth, DP 6/8), 310 – orientation (inlet, exhaust, drive housing).
Orientation – same starter, different position
The orientation code at the end of the model number (e.g. -02FJ, -2N or -POS) only defines the inlet, exhaust, drive housing and flange positions on the engine. The starter itself is the same. Each product page lists the same starter in other orientations – choose the one that fits your engine installation, or ask us.
