Ingersoll Rand SS100 Series Vane Air Starters for Small Engines (2.3–13.8 hp)
The SS100 is a compact vane-motor air starter for smaller diesel and gas engines – generator sets, pumps, compressors, smaller marine and off-highway engines. An overhung nose delivers higher torque, the starter is lube-free and also runs on natural gas.
- Lube-free vane motor – no inlet air lubrication required.
- Air or natural gas, 2.1–10.3 bar.
- Pre-engaged and inertia versions.
- SAE 1, SAE 3 and SAE 4 flanges, a choice of pinions (DP and module), 6 inlet/exhaust position combinations.
Model code
Example SS100P01R77-21: SS100P – pre-engaged SS100, 01 – SAE 1 flange, R – right-hand rotation, 77 – pinion (9 teeth, module 3), 2 – inlet position, 1 – exhaust position. Code XX means a pinion to engine specification.
Orientation – same starter, different position
The orientation code at the end of the model number (e.g. -02FJ, -2N or -POS) only defines the inlet, exhaust, drive housing and flange positions on the engine. The starter itself is the same. Each product page lists the same starter in other orientations – choose the one that fits your engine installation, or ask us.
