Ingersoll Rand ST2000 Series Turbine Air Starters (8–70 hp)
The ST2000 is Ingersoll Rand’s new-generation lightweight in-line turbine air starter for engines from 15 to 150 litres, packing 70 hp into a package of approx. 18–20 kg. It succeeds the ST500 Series and combines the best of the ST1000 turbine and the ST600 front end.
- Slip clutch takes the shock loading out of starting and extends starter and engine life.
- Single-stage solid aluminium turbine motor handles harsh conditions and uses less air than dual-turbine designs.
- Extended pilot flange – the starter hangs in place during installation, making it a one-person job.
- Two versions: radial-flow (air only) and directional-flow gas version (code G, sealed for natural gas). SAE 3 flange, 1½″ NPT / SAE J518 code 61 inlet.
Models and model code
ST2060 (60% arc) for higher supply pressures, ST2099 (99% arc) for lower pressures. Example ST2099BG03R51-A3: ST2099 – model, B – gear ratio, G – gas version, 03 – SAE 3 flange, R – right-hand rotation, 51 – pinion (15 teeth, DP 6/8); XX = pinion to engine specification, -POS = position specified with the order.
Orientation – same starter, different position
The orientation code at the end of the model number (e.g. -02FJ, -2N or -POS) only defines the inlet, exhaust, drive housing and flange positions on the engine. The starter itself is the same. Each product page lists the same starter in other orientations – choose the one that fits your engine installation, or ask us.
